I'm just fascinated with this idea...the idea that they've come up with a $50k ATM machine that you put your money in, pick what book you want, and out comes a perfect bound book within minutes. I posted the article to the CCF site and it just won't leave my mind! My daughter laughs at me, "only you would get excited about such a thing! Having an ATM for books."
But really, can you imagine? Actually not imagine because the NY Public Library is getting one of the prototypes in February. So...can you see yourself going to the NY Public Library, putting in $5 and getting to choose from a countless number of titles available in its database and pick what language you want it in and getting your own perfect bound copy of that title within minutes? Wow...for a Trekkie like myself it's science fiction come to life!
Next time I'm in NY you can bet I'll be making a beeline to the NY Public Library and getting myself one of them ATM books.
